Meet Nathan Miller

I am a Virginia Master Electrician. I have a Bachelors degree in Business Information Technology from Virginia Tech. I have my Private Pilot's License. When it comes to tackling problems and finding solutions to make your life easier, I love rolling up my sleeves and getting my hands dirty. I enjoy striking a balance between innovation and convention. I don't think outside the box merely for thinking outside the box. Sometimes the box has a tried and true solution. Go with that. Other times, there's a better mouse trap.

As an example, my sister is a Chiropractor. She bought two hydro-massage beds for her practice. When she arrives in the morning, she powers up the beds and gets ready to see her first patient. Unfortunately, the water takes over an hour to heat up and her first few patients miss out on the experience. She had considered letting them run all night - after all, patients first. But why waste electricity if there's a better way?

We sought out a solution that would work best. Sure, we could go with a timer. But what happens if it snowed the night before and she can't go in? What if her first patient of the day cancelled with little notice? Instead, we drew up a solution using a smart home switch that triggered heavy duty relays that turned on one or both of her beds through an App. Now she doesn't have to choose among getting an extra hour with her kids, saving money on electricity, or settling for substandard care for her patients.
This is an example of solutions I love to implement to keep more money in your pocket, put extra time back on your watch to spend with your kids, and make your life easier. This is what I do.
